Hello, friend!

Thanks for stopping by!  My motivation for the words here are to encourage… by offering little slices of our family life.   To offer a word of hope on a day when matching socks couldn’t be found, words of encouragement for the sleepless reality a newborn brings,  or words of support when a family member is diagnosed with a terminal illness.  Maybe you just wanna stroll through the garden, which helps me maintain my sanity or see what great books we’re reading 🙂  Just know that you’re not alone.  The roads traveled have different names, but our journeys share similar twists and turns.  I hope to share the realities of motherhood – challenges, successes and more challenges…and still be able to laugh along the way!  I look forward to learning from your journey as well.

Being a mom is the most difficult, yet most rewarding calling on my life.  One aspect that complicates this – the idea from which the title of this blog is derived – is the broad age span of my children.  Within any given moment of the day, I can be engaged in a meaningful conversation with my older sons about a foreign policy issue, debating the value of the fair tax or listening to an oratory on the biological explanation of how mold spores reproduce which then leads to the explanation of why many things in my fridge are hazardous.  In a split second,  I’m explaining to my 7 -yr. old why he shouldn’t relieve himself on the front porch (again) and discovering that my 5-yr. old future cosmetologist once again has freshly-scissored diagonal bangs.

Hopefully, you will find words here to encourage or bring laughter.  Moms need endless amounts of each of these!  So, sit down for a minute…..because you know you’ll only get one, and read on!  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to let me know you were here 🙂
